Earlier this year, I travelled across the US to attend Craftcation in Ventura Beach, CA. Craftcation is a conference for makers filled with business and craft classes. The event was full of timely business guidance, a wide array of craft offerings, and (most importantly) a social network of amazing creatives with nothing but positive vibes and uplifting intentions.
While I chose to fill my schedule with mostly business classes, I did attend a couple craft sessions. One of the classes was learning how to make a quilted potholder. Funny story…..I got back into sewing about 10 years ago with the intent of learning how to make quilts. This week I finally made my first attempt at quilting by making a potholder at Craftcation. I also took a punch needle class. It was so satisfying how quickly this craft takes shape.
I'm so glad I finally took the leap to attend this conference - it has been on my radar for years. I think it's is really important to take the time out of your normal routine and invest in yourself. I can't wait to get back to California next year to attend again!
